WHAT IS BUMMP?
Boulder United Methodist Mission Partners (BUMMP) is a partnership formed in 1976 of now over 16 nearby United Methodist Churches, which organizes and promotes mission projects at local, regional, national and international locations. The BUMMP Committee meets monthly and continues mission project planning between activities. If you would like to participate in some capacity, please let us know since we are always planning new activities. Active volunteer planners, workers, and leaders are welcome from all area UMC’s. Boulder United Methodist Partners has filed Articles of
Incorporation with the Colorado
Secretary of State and will henceforth be known as BUMMP, Inc.
Application is being made to IRS for non-profit status under
501c3. It is the expectation of existing BUMMP members that
this action will help BUMMP to improve in many ways including: a)
facilitate expanded fund raising activity to raise funds for future
mission projects in excess of the few annual projects now sponsored.
Sustainable funding for selected projects may be considered. Also,
BUMMP, Inc. may consider sponsoring more medical mission teams, water
purification projects, and will continue to sponsor construction and
disaster relief projects; b) provide a structured organization which
will enable BUMMP, Inc. to involve more volunteers from local churches
in BUMMP missions and planning. It is our hope that the new corporation
will be structured so that BUMMP can become more closely related to the
local churches that support us.
